Visiting the EUREF CAMPUS Berlin - innovation for the future
The EUREF Campus in Berlin-Schöneberg is a futuristic site where more than 3,500 people are currently working, researching and learning in the areas energy, mobility and sustainability at over 150 corporations, institutions and start-ups – cooperatively and openly. Since the project was launched in 2008, the ca. 5.5-hectare urban district, which has consistently fulfilled the climate goals defined by Germany’s federal government for 2050 since 2014, has grown to become the first real-world energy transition laboratory of its kind in Europe.
Thanks to an innovative, mixed community of business and science, a climate-neutral power supply, intelligent energy grid, energy-efficient buildings, testing platform for future mobility solutions, and countless research projects, here we’re proving day after day that the energy transition is both technically and financially feasible.
During a guided tour of the EUREF Campus, conference participants will be introduced to informative projects on climate protection and sustainability. The campus is the holistic, smart urban district of tomorrow: in addition to electromobility, sharing is a major priority. What’s more: autonomous driving has been tested here for years.
Following the tour, there will be a conference dinner at the restaurant “Alte Schmiede” on campus. Recently renovated, it has a rustic and cosy charm, with brick walls and wooden plank ceilings.
